Hondisi Bareyiri - About accepting life, and moving on: Ramenahalli Jagannatha


Hondisi Bareyiri, set to release on February 10, marks the debut of Ramenahalli Jagannatha who is originally from an engineering background. The movie also stars Praveen Tej, Anirudh Acharya, Shri, Aishani Shetty and Naveen Shankar in lead roles.

Jagannatha’s passion towards filmmaking, love for rich Kannada literature saw him immerse himself in writing early on. “I also worked as an assistant for a few movies, this instilled confidence in me,” says Jagannatha, who finished engineering, tried Sandalwood as a lyricist, but finally turned director.

Literature influences filmmaking

Influenced by Gaalipata, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, he says, “My planning for the movie was immaculate - I prepared a storyboard and a bound script even before I narrated it to the actors.”How Hondisi Bareyiri resonates

“The movie narrates the 12 years journey of Praveen Tej, Shri, Anirudh Acharya, Aishani Shetty and Naveen Shankar. In between, Archana Jois, Bhavana Rao and Samyukta Hornad bring in emotions, romance and comedy. With eight songs, the music is by Joe Costa. The core of the film is about taking life as it comes, to accept and move on,” he adds of the film shot in Agumbe, Mangaluru and Sakleshpur.
